This photo was taken during my first visit to beautiful Puerto Vallarta located in Mexico’s pacific coast in the state of Jalisco back in 2016, my backpacking and budget travelling days. Getting a taxi out of airport wasn’t an option. So I decided to walk from the airport to the old city. Everything was anew and fresh, the colours, the weather, the smells, every single sight mesmerized me. About thirty minutes into my walk I spotted a colourful amusement park in the distance away from hotel area and the old city, somewhere in between. A pop-up amusement park filled with colourful people. As curious as I am I decided to get in there and have a bit of fun. Next thing you know I walked out with this photo.
Vayarta holds a very special place in my heart, it marks the beginning of my adventures in non-commercial photography. It represents the Mexico I love in all of it’s free innocence and colourful vibes.
